About R2
Fifteen years of engineering software.
Founded in Calgary in 2010. Ten core staff, three alliance partners and twenty-plus consultants — Calgary, Ottawa, and globally.
R2 began as a small software & engineering firm taking on the complex operational problems resource companies had struggled to solve—founded by people who had spent their careers working inside those operations.
Fifteen years later, that discipline has not changed. R2 holds an active APEGA Permit to Practice, and our engineering work is led by licensed Professional Engineers. When our name goes on a system, our professional standards and accountability go with it.
What has changed is the scope. Oil and gas came first, but today R2 brings together engineering, software development, modelling and simulation, data integration, analytics, optimization, and decision-support technology to solve complex problems across mining, healthcare, and the public sector—including defense, federal programs, and post-secondary institutions.

Clint Delisle is the founder of R2 Solutions and a Professional Engineer with more than 30 years of experience designing advanced analytics, simulation, and optimization solutions for complex industrial systems. His work spans the energy, government, mining, and technology sectors, combining engineering, software architecture, and data science.
Clint leads R2’s technical direction in modelling, analytics, and optimization. His experience includes cloud and large-scale data architectures, machine learning, digital twins, and practical decision-support systems. He focuses on creating solutions that are technically rigorous, transparent, and capable of standing up to both operational and executive scrutiny.

Tim Klassen is a founding partner of R2 Solutions with more than two decades of experience building trusted client relationships across the energy, industrial, and technology sectors. He brings a strong market-facing perspective shaped by long-standing relationships with operators, technology vendors, service providers, and public-sector organizations.
Tim focuses on client engagement, sales, strategic alliances, and recruiting. He works closely with clients to understand their operational challenges, develops partnerships that expand R2’s capabilities and market reach, and recruits experienced technical professionals who meet R2’s engineering standards and client expectations.
Certifications
APEGA permit holder.
R2 Solutions holds an active permit with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta. Engineering ethics built into every engagement.
